i LOVE my tv.

Is loving your TV a bad thing? My answer would be a big NO. I can't help how much I love all of my favorite shows: Gossip Girl, Mad Men, The Mentalist, Modern Family, House, 30 Rock, The Office, Glee, Secret Life, and oh so much more... So most of those shows are trashy I guess I'm just so curious to see what will happen next that I could care less. I find that I get so attached to the characters it's ridiculous. I will admit I am quite the weeper when it comes to sad endings and events in shows and movies. I even cried at the end of the last Gossip Girl season finale which made me feel slightly pathetic. Anyways, while some of it seems trashy a lot of it has its artistic forms and styles. For example, Glee isn't just a show with a bunch of people singing. There's a story line and many symbolic things takes place. In addition, the comedies I tune in for take a lot of wit and thinking; they aren't just mindless entertainment. There aren't really many shows I don't like, and I suppose that's because I just don't ever watch them.

Then there are the advertisements thrown in all over the place. I love that I get to avoid these commercials through my DVR. What an AMAZING invention! DVR is great and I love it and I can only guess that it has hurt the advertising industry quite a bit. Sure, there's advertising in the shows still, but not nearly as much as what I get to avoid with my DVR. A little bit more on the DVR thing. It's great, but now that I'm so used to it, it is pretty much torture to watch anything without it. The commercials drive me crazy now. Basically, I believe the TV is both a great use of expression and a way to advertise. However, I still love it.
