I'm not crazy about television, most of the time it's just my dad watching Walking with Dinosaurs or Nova. Yeah, the people who watch it 24/7 are going overboard, but having a few favorite shows is fine. My main problem with it is how the quality has declined over the years. The nineties had the BEST shows: Freaks and Geeks, My So Called Life, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Boy Meets World, Seinfeld, Friends, etc. They had better humor, less commercials, and better direction, with few exceptions; one of them being Lost.
Lost was a fabulous show. The organization and suspense was really cool and to have people's interest for six seasons is incredible. It's a show that makes you think and is way more intellectual than trash TV. Anyone who doesn't like Lost is very lame. Jersey Shore is also fab. This, on the other hand, is trash TV. But it's so entertaining that it's the price you have to pay. Emma Guida should consider joining the house.
I suppose we have a few good modern shows: The Office, which started off great but keeps getting worse, Flight of the Conchords- hilarious, 30 Rock. Then there are the modern disaster shows: all of Disney channel, the dozens of vampire shows, and Glee- for some reason I just can't stand Glee. Everyone else seems to love it.
Ads don't really bother me all that much, but, yeah, every five minutes is super annoying.
